Built for African conditions

Six questions worth asking any supplier before you sign — and how we answer them.

ABANDONED

The plant that was built and then stopped

Across the continent there are treatment works that were funded, built, handed over and are now idle or discharging raw. Replacing them costs more than most budgets allow.

Our core business is exactly this: in-situ recovery and uprating — cultures, carriers and process control on the tanks you already have, not new concrete.
CHEMICALS

Every reagent is imported

A process that eats sulphuric acid and caustic is a process that stops when the shipment is late or the foreign exchange is not there. Conventional Fenton at pH 3–4 is exactly that process.

Our oxidation runs at pH ≈ 6 with no acid dosing and much less alkali, which cuts both the running cost and the number of things that can strand the plant.
LOAD

Industrial park effluent that kills the biology

Tanneries, textile dyeing, breweries and food processing feeding one municipal works. Salinity, sulphide, dyes and shock loads flatten a conventional activated sludge plant.

We have run a tannery plant at chloride above 10,000 mg/L using salt-tolerant cultures, and restarted a collapsed biological system to compliance in a week.
GRID

Voltage dips and 45 °C ambient

Most of the continent runs 230 V single / 400–415 V three-phase at 50 Hz, and the supply sags. Cabinets cook, drives trip on over-temperature, dust blocks fans and media.

Panels wired for 380 / 415 V, 50 Hz with phase-failure and under-voltage protection, oversized IP55 enclosures with filtered forced ventilation, genset-ready changeover.
SPARES

The three-week spare part

A cheap dosing diaphragm can stop a town's treatment for a month if it has to be air-freighted and cleared through customs.

A 12-month consumable kit ships inside the container, and wear parts are specified in standard sizes you can also buy locally.
PEOPLE

Whoever actually operates it

The plant is usually run by a local technician who did not attend the factory training, on a shift, with a phone. Skilled operators have to be built locally, not flown in.

The model we already run in Tibet: a local subsidiary staffed by local graduates, trained at our centre and returned to site, plus bilingual operating cards at the panel and a video line to our engineers.
From enquiry to running plant

How a project runs

Six stages, in order, because each depends on the last. Durations are typical working times and are confirmed in your contract.

01

Analysis & survey

Water analysis plus, for an existing plant, photos and drawings of what is actually there.

1–7 days
02

Bench test

We run your sample in our lab before proposing a process. On difficult effluent this is not optional.

5–15 days
03

Design & quotation

Process design, P&ID and general arrangement, priced FOB / CIF / DAP.

3–7 days
04

Manufacture & test

Skid fabrication, panel build, wet test in the workshop, progress photos as it goes.

20–45 days
05

Shipping

Booking, B/L, packing list, CO and any inspection certificate your customs requires.

25–45 days sea
06

Seeding & training

Commissioning with culture seeding, operator training, then operations support if you want it.

7–30 days
Where we ship

Four regions, two working languages

Quotations, drawings, manuals and panel labels are issued in the working language of your region.

Send us your water analysis. We will send back a process and a price.

An incomplete enquiry is still worth sending — tell us the flow and what is failing, and we will tell you what we would do.
