Two-phase catalytic oxidation
Our own process for effluent that will not meet COD or colour limits. A first stage over a composite heterogeneous transition-metal catalyst, then a second over solid zero-valent composite metal that works by reduction and micro-electrolysis — which is what breaks the azo dyes and complex ring structures conventional Fenton leaves behind. The whole reaction is held near pH 6, so there is no acid dosing step and much less alkali afterwards, and dosing is set automatically against measured flow and load.
